The last few weeks have been really difficult for me. It could have been going on for longer but since I came back from a visit to the states things have been pretty off. I couldn’t figure it out at all. I was just really sad most of the time and distant in things. One day I decided to kind of get rid of some things that would distract me. Once I did that, I started to focus more on God. That’s when I realized what I believe I needed to learn: absolute surrender. Sadly, I feel like I’ve been meaning to learn this for quite some time. It just takes getting to a breaking point to where I really look to God and want to know what He wants to teach me. That’s when I’ll remove things that distract me so I can look to Him.
One of the hardest things for me that I have been struggling with surrendering to God is my desire to be married and have a family. If anything that desire has done nothing but strengthen while I’ve been in Peru. For some reason I just felt like if I let go of it, then it wont happen. Like I wouldn’t just be giving it up to God but I’d be giving up on it entirely. I know now that isn’t true.
“I ask, What has God promised you, and what can God do to fill a vessel absolutely surrendered to Him? Oh, God wants to bless you in a way beyond what you expect.” (Andrew Murray Absolute Surrender) “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. “ 1 Corinthians 2:9 “God has prepared unheard-of-things, blessings much more wonderful than you can imagine, more mighty than you can conceive. They are divine blessings. Oh, say now: "I give myself absolutely to God, to His will, to do only what God wants." (Murray)
“But if we look forward to something we don’t have yet, we must wait patiently and confidently…And I am convinced that nothing can separate us from his love. Death can’t and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can’t keep God’s love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:25, 38-39
Scripture so clearly says exactly what I’ve been afraid of. Nothing can separate us from God’s love and He has plans for our lives that none of us can imagine. This past weekend I went to a lake for a day. The beauty I saw that day just blew me away. “Look at the birds. They don’t need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are.” (Matthew 6: 26) The lake was amazing but the ride home at night with the moon and the stars was just incredible.
“God comes and offers to work this absolute surrender in you. All these searchings and hungerings and longings that are in your heart, I tell you, they are the drawings of the divine magnet, Christ Jesus. He lived a life of absolute surrender. He has possession of you; He is living in your heart by His Holy Spirit. You have hindered and hindered Him terribly, but He desires to help you to get a hold of Him entirely. And He comes and draws you now by His message and words. Will you not come and trust God to work in you that absolute surrender to Himself Yes, blessed be God! He can do it, and He will do it.” (Murray)
I realized that I am in love with God and I know that He loves me therefore I trust Him completely. It’ll be an ongoing process but I can’t wait to see what all the Lord shows me."Come out for God, and say: 'Lord, anything for You.' If you say that with prayer, and speak that into God's ear, He will accept it, and He will teach you what it means." (Murray)

Love you friend! I am glad that the Lord is working on your heart and giving you peace in the process. I can't imagine how hard it is but if anyone can do it - you can :) So happy you had fun at the lake!
